The magic lies in the balance. Sweet strawberries, combined with the mild flavor of spinach (trust me, you won't even taste it!), create a delightful and refreshing drink. Plus, it's packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants – a true powerhouse in a glass. You know how it is. Somedays, you just don't get enough of the good stuff, but this is the answer!

🍽 Ingredients

📖 Instructions

  1. First, grab your blender. Any blender will do, but I prefer a high-speed blender for the smoothest texture, but don't feel pressured if you dont have one.
  2. Rinse the Spinach: Thoroughly wash 2 cups of fresh spinach under cold running water to remove any dirt or grit. I just like to use my hands and make sure it is all clean. Who wants gritty smoothies!?
  3. Prep the Strawberries: Hull and halve or quarter 1 cup of fresh strawberries. Freezing them slightly beforehand can make the smoothie extra cold and creamy.
  4. Measure the Liquid: Pour 1 cup of liquid into the blender. Options include water, almond milk (unsweetened vanilla is my fave!), coconut water, or even regular dairy milk. Experiment to find what you like best.
  5. Add the Yogurt (Optional): If you want a creamier texture and a boost of protein, add 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt or your favorite yogurt alternative. Adds a bit of tang too!
  6. Blend It Up: Place the spinach, strawberries, and liquid into the blender. If you're using yogurt or any other add-ins, toss them in too. Secure the lid tightly!
  7. Start Blending: Begin blending on low speed, gradually increasing to high. Blend for about 30-60 seconds, or until the smoothie is completely smooth and there are no visible chunks of spinach or strawberries. You don't want green bits stuck in your teeth!.
  8. Check Consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more liquid (a splash at a time) and blend again. If it's too thin, add a few more frozen strawberries or a small handful of ice cubes.
  9. Taste and Adjust: Give the smoothie a taste. If it's not sweet enough for you, add a drizzle of honey, maple syrup, or a few drops of stevia. Blend again to incorporate.
  10. Serve Immediately: Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately. It's best when fresh! If you like, garnish with a strawberry or a sprig of mint for a fancy touch, but that's just extra.
  11. Clean Up: Rinse the blender jar right away to make cleaning easier. Nobody likes a crusty blender!

📝 Notes

  • For a thicker smoothie, use frozen fruit.
  • Add a scoop of protein powder for an extra protein boost.
  • Experiment with other fruits like banana or mango for different flavor combinations.
  • If you're not used to greens in your smoothies, start with a smaller amount of spinach and gradually increase it over time.
